Capt.Destructo & his Sidekick

Let it be known that I adore, cherish and love my kids with every fiber of my being. However since we have lost our sense of routine with Kalen out of school, all chaos has completely taken over. I guess that would be my own damn fault. It's summer and things are just wild around here. Everything seems to get broken or destroyed. Stephen just about breaks everything he manages to get his little toddler hands on. It is driving me crazy!!!! I try to do crafts, and coloring with crayons and markers, craft foam projects. On hot days I set the pool up and we enjoy the swing set. The in between time is crazy around here., our living room lamp has seen it's last days of worthiness as the shade has broken off. Peace only comes at nap time around here and if I am lucky they both sleep at the same time. Heaven help me.

I really love company

I am being sarcastic. The day before our company arrives I go food shopping with kids in tow, with my ever extensive list of items. What a task this is! I need to mention this deli lady me : 1/2 a pound of cheese please deli lady: how do you want that sliced? Me: it doesn't matter. Deli lady: something else? Me: 1/2 pound of turkey please. Deli lady: how do you want that sliced? omg holy fuck old bitch IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!!! I think I want it sliced 3 inches fucking thick- good god, hate that...Why does it even matter how its fucking sliced!!!!!!! Ass bitch--- and this was only the start of the shopping experience. Oh boy.Summer morning at the grocery store is a hellish nightmare
My inlaws arrived at noon the following day with Stephens aunt., oh and what a joy she is to be around.(long story)
Overall we had a nice time, I am happy to say I video taped the entire day the good bad the the funny parts all caught on tape. The worse thing about having company is the Stephen grills the whole time, and I serve, prepare, and clean up everything!!!!!! Oh do I despise cleaning up too-And as well as we can try to stick to the same routine I try to have the children on, never works why on earth do I bother... Why in the the world do they only come for one day behooves me, its a 4.5 hour car drive on top of it being hazy hot and humid a mere 102 degrees by 1pm. Summer has a arrived and I intend on staying put.I would secretly love to escape into a private rustic cabins in the northwoods on a lake....

The Pasta Sauce Nightmare

So another beautiful morning began., coffee, some breakfast. The kids watch some cartoons, get bored, play with some toys get bored with that. Stephen decides whatever is in the kitchen cabinets is so much more entertaining. (note to self) get more cabinet locks and fast! Aha yes, a new jar of pasta sauce. With the slighted of smallest toss kaplunk on the kitchen floor. A hug spray of bright red prego galore.....Whammy let's see it was EVERYWHERE!!!! Yup, the walls the ceiling, the cabinets, the dishwasher, the ceiling fan, the fridge, and of course every little crevice you can think of a nightmare.
So another beautiful day with kids begins.....Ha, at least the kitchen is clean., for five minutes anyway.

"Your gonna need a bigger boat"

'Frankly My Dear...' Named Top Movie Quote

Marlon Brando was a contender in the American Film Institute's list of best quotes from U.S. movies. But No. 1 was Rhett Butler's parting shot to Scarlett O'Hara: "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

Clark Gable's line to Vivien Leigh in 1939's "Gone With the Wind" led the AFI's list, announced in the organization's annual top-100 special that aired on CBS Tuesday.

Brando had the No. 2 and 3 quotes _ "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse," from "The Godfather" and his "I coulda been a contender" speech from "On the Waterfront."

Judy Garland's Dorothy Gale came in fourth with "Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore," from The Wizard of Oz." At No. 5 was "Here's looking at you, kid," spoken by Rick (Humphrey Bogart) to Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) in "Casablanca."

Bob Gazzale, producer of the AFI special, expected a "Casablanca" line would top the list, chosen through ballots sent to 1,500 filmmakers, actors, critics and others in Hollywood. Yet once the votes were counted, Rhett's retort seemed an obvious choice, Gazzale said.

"Frankly, it has become kind of the catch phrase of catch phrases," Gazzale said. "It's used in so many different ways. Who hasn't been in a relationship where you really give it your all, whether you're a man or a woman, and finally get to the point where you surrender and take back control of the situation with a simple line from the 1930s?"

Two other lines from "Gone With the Wind" made the top 100, Leigh's "After all, tomorrow is another day" (No. 31) and "As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again" (No. 59).

Rounding out the top 10:

6. "Go ahead, make my day," Clint Eastwood, "Sudden Impact."

7. "All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up," Gloria Swanson, "Sunset Blvd."

8. "May the Force be with you," Harrison Ford, "Star Wars."

9. "Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night," Bette Davis, "All About Eve."

10. "You talking to me?", Robert De Niro, "Taxi Driver."

"Casablanca" led the list with six quotes, including Bogart's "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship" (No. 20) and "We'll always have Paris" (No. 43), and Bergman's "Play it, Sam. Play `As Time Goes By'" (No. 28).

Other highlights include Sidney Poitier's "They call me Mister Tibbs!" (No. 16), "In the Heat of the Night"; Roy Scheider's "You're gonna need a bigger boat" (No. 35), "Jaws"; Arnold Schwarzenegger's "I'll be back" (No. 37), "The Terminator"; Renee Zellweger's "You had me at `hello'" (No. 52), "Jerry Maguire"; Peter Sellers' "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!" (No. 64), "Dr. Strangelove"; and Charlton Heston's "Soylent Green is people!" (No. 77), "Soylent Green."

The oldest line was Al Jolson's "Wait a minute, wait a minute. You ain't heard nothin' yet" (No. 71) from 1927's "The Jazz Singer." The newest was Andy Serkis' "My precious" (No. 85) from 2002's "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers."

Rowdy comedy was represented (John Belushi's "Toga! Toga!", No. 82, from "National Lampoon's Animal House"), along with horror (Jack Nicholson's "Here's Johnny!", No. 68, from "The Shining"). So was musical comedy (Barbra Streisand's "Hello, gorgeous," No. 81, from "Funny Girl"), and epic romance (Leonardo DiCaprio's "I'm king of the world!", No. 100, from "Titanic").

Single words made the list, Orson Welles' "Rosebud" (No. 17) from "Citizen Kane" and Walter Brooke's "Plastics" (No. 42) from "The Graduate."

Super-spy James Bond scored with lines that began with original 007 Sean Connery: "Bond. James Bond" (No. 22) from "Dr. No" and "A martini. Shaken, not stirred" (No. 90) from "Goldfinger."

The most recent James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, hosted the AFI quotes special. While some critics carp about omissions from AFI's lists or grouse over the idea of ranking movies, Brosnan said it's all in fun.

"It's an intrinsic part of human nature to rank, file, have a No. 1 and No. 2, to make us all feel better, I think, and to show how clever we are," Brosnan said. "It's purely entertainment."

Happy Father's Day Stephen

We had a very nice day yesterday at Boothbay Railway. The kids enjoyed themselves tremendously I survived the 45 minute drive over there. It seems like a long time since I was in the car for that amount of time. It was a great stroll through the village, then onto the train. Which I nicknamed "Thomas". It was very exciting to watch the children's reaction when we began to move up the tracks. Stephen didn't cry at all, and Kalen kept saying Thomas is blue not green; so I re-nicknamed Thomas Percy, and thankgoodness he really is green as we confirmed in the books at home. We had a nice picnic lunch that I carefully packed up that early morning. I love him for so many reasons. More so, the way he loves, adores and cares for our children.

Balloons

I just have to wonder if the hospital gave me the correct children at times. One of those times was today. A shopping trip to our local party supply shop. Browsing around with two kids under the age of four is crazy to begin with. The wonderfully nice sales lady offers them two balloons as she must have seen my frazzled look upon my face.
I make my purchase after multiple thank you's to the sales lady...Only to get back in the car to screaming crying children!!!!! Who does this? What child cries over a balloon? Free I might add. Yes, mine.Urghhhhhh.

love is.....one week until 5th anniversary....

TODAY

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free. Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste. Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive. Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born. Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses. Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships. Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do. Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge. Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul. Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping. What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have! Have a GREAT DAY! Unless you have other plans.

Speech Eval Meeting

The pathologist is booked until fall so I need to seek out some one else.(we can't wait until then)...however she did say he was a pleasure to work with as brief as it was, and Stephen was charming and very sweet..He has a severe speech delay he is at a 9 month level makes me very uneasy and sad because he comprehends "everything" I say or others say to him yet does not communicate with words whatsoever...we will be going weekly for one hr to work on his speech. He did say mama the other day which melted my heart to hear.....he now runs around saying "blue" and "no" quite often too-.
